One warm summer night, my vision so clear. The moon was so bright, I could see far to near.
Then out from the woods a shadowy figure strode. Tall as a tree it stood, and on a pale horse it rode.
Its scythe gleaming in the moonlight, twas neither woman nor man. It gave me quite a fright,
so away from it I ran.
After me it did chase, and I was running out of land. It would not lose this race, for I could barely stand.
